It might be difficult, though, to persuade skippers that your name is Morag... oh no.... wait a minute.... it's a girls name.... shoudl be quite easy then
*John Inman mode on* I'm DIN It'll be a spare spare so I'm not worried about the name, people can call me what they like as long as they don't call me late for my dinner

PM sent

Safe diving,
Steve

P.S. does anyone know how to remove marker pen?

Steve I know it's an anathama to your tight Northern ways but you could consider buying Divesigns reflective stickers .... they are really very very good and would cover unwanted names too

I think it'll be cheaper to change my name to Morag

Safe diving,
Steve

it looks like a divesigns sticker on it Steve, so it should just peel off easily

its much easier and a lot cheaper just to write you name on it in big letters with a black marker, the reflectiveness adds nothing

Morag, if Steves having the dsmb can I have the steel 7, you'll not be needing it, bit like a pony, not really needed if you dive in a team set-up

Steve is having my crack'n'go. Actually, my spare crack'n'go, the one with my name in blue and black, marker pen.

It is going in the post.

Gary. The cylinder is not up for grabs! Whilst i appreciate the team ethos, the majority of my club don't dive that way and are likely to leave me to fend for myself. Until they run out of gas that is, and need my spare

OK whats the hula hoop for? is it for something to do whilst they watch your SMB? I've never used one just lift smb and suicide clip the bottom section on and let go.

i was advised to do it that way by a skipper (and other skippers have agreed it is fine) By dropping the hula hoop over the DSMB, there is no need to lift the DSMB and potentially the diver. It won't land on the diver's head, but should be close enough. It is also a lot easier for skippers with high sided boats o drop it in.

to the o.p. excellent topic, many thanks for sharing. sound like good work on your part to avoid any further problems, i know how they like to multiply!

on the hula hoop pic, is the hula hoop connected close to the buoy, i.e. it is near the surface and the cylinder is on x length of rope, if that makes sense?

cheers jp
