Dumped the Auto-air for an AP200 pretty damn quick. I was, however, warned off using the manifold bar for on-board OC bailout - the premise being that the manifold is a possible restriction of gas flow unsuitable for letting large volumes of gas pass (ooer) through in the event of a situation that dictates use of the OC 2nd stage - ie oooooooooooooooh shiiiiit!!
This premise may or may not be true, so I'm erring on the side of caution and have my 2nd stage hanging off the 1st on a long hose.
Who's got the other aftermarket HUD then? Hammerhead job? PS Uri's is now shipping, having successfully taken part in a deep wreck expedition to beyond 115m this past week-and-a-half - it's rated to 150m with a deeper rated one on its way to satisfy the real nutters

Shut of valve on ADV

(Handy when the ADV leaks - which it will at some stage, plus handy for O2 flushes at 6m, or if wish to use onboard for inflation and run trimix off offboard.

Currently testing rear counterlungs on the unit

Full face mask with OC/CC Valve

Quick connect whip to dil bar and OC/CC vave for running off-board gases (OC/CC valve can be run of on-boards or offboards via whip.)

Dual wing

Hose covers

Hose insulation

Auto air removed

Drmike,

What type of dual wings/bp are you using ? Do you have problems with the wing pushing the 2 hoses too much up (at least that's what I have read!)

Regards

Pierre

Im not using a BP (I dont see the need, I just took out the soft padding - that made it much more stable)

The wing is a Diverite dual rec.

It fits fine no prob and doesnt reach the hoses so doesnt put pressure on them. There was a design change a while back on the DR dual recs.

Only thing I miss with the original wing is those great side D rings for slinging stages on the wing. I got some extened D rings made up for my rig coming off the waist strap to replace them. They tend to sit the stages lower but they do the job.

Cheers
Mike

Hello all,

Anyone here ever considered removing the yellow box and swapping it with a SS chasis, of which you can use which ever cylinders you need?

Pierre

nmanfield saw the sea in a book once
You'll find that the guy who designed this is Dave Thompson and it is known as the 'DT Box' I've spoken to him and he's put his lungs on the back. Let me know if you want more details,

Regards,

Nick

Dumped Auto Air (my opinion on this piece of junk would be unprintable)

Added x-stream deep to dil 1st stage, now hung on bungee around neck,

added x-stream deco to oxygen 1st stage, secured using lowetst velcro fastener on lungs on oxygen side

ADV - came with unit (I haven't made my mind up on the flow stop)

Custom Diver TDB dual bladder wing and steel back plate

Weights permantly attached between back plate and box.

fitted a 3litre pony to dil side of case, always have air in it, used for suit inflation, and for hand off to OC divers when doing shallower dives (e.g. my 12 year old daughter)

4th cell assebly for VR3

EPIRB case and torch battery into cam band of oxygen cylinder, on outside of box.

For the near future

new center core so 5 cells can be mounted in line in the head of the unit (3 normal and 2no for 2no VR3's)

6 Hour scrubber

JAN box type mounting system, will probably build it myself or use the one divingproducts.co.uk is planning

HUD system am considereing http://www.underwaterexperiences.com/ system

The ability to side mount for caving see seperate topic http://www.yorkshire-divers.co.uk/fo...ad.php?t=14487
