Waiting list YBOD

Hello,

Just curious after talking to a friend about how much one has to wait for an inspiration. I ordered mine on the 15 Aug and from what I received lately, they should have started to build it this week! Anyone knows what is their policy? Do they only build by order? Why they don't have off the shelf, at the end there isn't something that they have to build custom made apart from Lisa I wish to know how much time they have to wait those divers who would buy an Evolution?

As you know I have been trying to order an Inspiration with new electronics. In the end (after my wife called AP from Thailand as they were ignoring emails) it turns out that they won't start taking orders until next week. It appears they have been taking "provisional orders" but their ordering system still isn't set up yet. They can give no idea as to lead times for the new units either.

I'm waiting for a mouthpiece and hose assembly and I was told there would be a delay as they had no corrugated hose at the moment. Fortunately it doesn't stop me diving.
I don't know what that is worth. I am always a little sceptical of APD statements.

Perhaps they're waiting for a delivery of Lime Green material for your unit!

My unit took about 5 weeks from order to delivery, and it was cutting it fine - on the Thursday before the course began on the Monday, they phone my Instructor and told him that they'd probably not be able to deliver it before the weekend - he replied "oh, yes you will, the student is arriving on Monday!".. Sure enough the unit arrived at the weekend in time fo me to get my hands on it first thing monday.

I wonder whether AP have a different processes and priorities for dealing with instructors on individuals ordering unit?

hmm my custom design one along with lisa's and paul's would of been ready a month after we ordered them (just) then we pointed out we didn't want them for another month they went few thats easier then

but then that was last summer before the evolutiona dn new electrics were all getting in the way

That would be great - a job where you get to fettle with YBODs all day. I think a job in DeltaP's factory would also be pretty cool too, making Orouborouborouborouses (or should that be Oroubourii ?)

They do have some good points though...

I phoned to explain that the whip I'd ordered was absolutely urgent as I had a course to do and needed to be able to decant the gases I was going to use.

They got the part to me within the week - special delivery and still wet from production! I found out later that Retailers were taking a month or so to get the same parts so they really pulled out the stops...

Hopefully my unit should, should be ready this week, so by today I hope so! Don't tempt me to e mail Sarah at ADP again and ask her when it will be ready , as she will come here and hit me as she had been so friendly and gave good service.

for what its worth i have always found ap to be on the ball!!
if you need to check on your unit speak to nicky finn as she is the productions manager and will know exactly where your units at.
dema is on next week in the states so she may well have gone over for that??
i hope it lives up to your expectations when it arrives!!
