| YBOD Electronics Just testing the water no pun intended, is there any call for S/H Inspiration Head Unit with Electronics, Handsets (non backlit) etc. Cheers, Mike |

| I should imagine so, considering it's the most costly bit of the whole unit -might be good for homebuilders f'rinstance. Just out of interest & working on the assumption you've got one, how come this enquiry's come about? You gone and got yourself a Hammerhead or something? If so I hate you already |

| Testing the water Rob, I haven't got the unit yet that's why I'm seeing if there is a market before I lay out my money, the unit only has about 30 dives on it, but I want to fit the Hammerhead. Just working out the potential final cost of the Rig. I would also be replacing the wing for a Custom Divers with Stainless Plate. Steve, The unit is 4 years old but has been unused for the last 2 years, as I said just testing the water so no idea what the head would be worth. No I'm not on Ebay as britishdiver, but I do own the www.britishdiver.com website. |

I think you might be better hanging onto the old headset as a spare. I've got 3 friends who have Hammerheads, one developed 2 separate failures in June last year and was sent back - he has only just got it back 15 months later, one fell off a bench and needed to go back, 3 months later it was still in the states( and may still be) - both are now using their old headsets with no problems. |

I've seen several backplate conversions but none I like yet, well Gordon Henderson's is nice but he had the factory rework the counterlungs for him so that's cheating. I can't quite see it myself. The backplate was wonderful on the twinset but the weight is placed very differently on the YBOD and it doesn't work for me so I've stuck with the pull-to-tighten tabs. Hammerheads really look magic but get slated for accuracy and the airmiles they clock up being fixed. The things that seem to be far more pressing are problems related to CO2 and bailout. I'm wondering... are you proposing these changes because you've dived it and you need these or are you just listening to stories? nigelH |

| Reasoning The reason for the Hammerhead was to take advantage of the integrated Deco, rather than standard head & VR3. If the reliability is a major issue then I will have to think twice. The new AP tronics look good but what a price, but I will take a look at a new YBOD at the Show. Thanks for all the coments they have been very useful. Mike |
