Inspiration Cleaning
Hi all

Can any one recomend a cleaning solution for cleaning the loop and lungs other than Buddy clean.

Because it is the same stuff as Buddy Clean but shedloads cheaper. I did a buddy clean bottle in about 3 cleans, the Trigene is still a third full and I must have cleaned the unit about 12 times.

How much of the stuff are you using? A couple of squirts is supposed to be enough.

Blimey I have done 22 dives and cleaned the unit 22 times and I havent made a dent in my bottle of Buddy clean yet?

I use a total of 8 squerts per cleen

I've done about the same and cleaned the unit after each days diving, two squirts in each hole. I'm told this system can give great satisfaction

Perhaps we are DIW though?

Been using mouthwash (Listerine) for ages, mainly because its more available wherever I am. Its not very effective - but I don't think it needs to be.

People often obsess with cleaning their rigs. If you research the agents Buddyclean wont do squat by way of cleaning as its too diluted and in contact for too short a period.

I keep meaning to get around to buying some Virkon (Navy study found this was best) but until I do Ill just keep using the Listerine.

The Navy report is floating around somewhere on the net it makes for quite interesting reading.
