Harry Houdini Inspiration

is there any way of frigging the harnes on an inspiration so you do not have to be Harry Houdini to get out of the bloody thing , I have had to paint big white dots on the relevant snaps so the oc boat handling lot can see to de-kit me in the water

Yeah dont you just love it, the other day I managed to clip my counterlung to the chest strap.

I then spent ages desperatly trying to find the chest strap

A dignified way of getting out of the bloody thing is best acheived with traumer shears

I have a Custom Divers harness on mine, just have to unclip the two shoulder clips, the two counterlung clips, the chest strap and crotch strap and you're away.

Not complicated if you know how.......

So step by step instructions:
One hand grabs the bottom of the counterlung and pulls it forward.
The other hand, wide open, slides up underneath.
The sliding hand hits the thin strap and closes. The fingers, even in my 7mm gloves, can pinch the clip and it pops open.
Repeat.
This time the clip is bigger and is trying to stuff itself into the back of the counterlung. Tip it up and it pays out the slack you pulled in when you tightened it. Now you can pop this clip too.

Just groping for a clip doesn't work as there are too many bits but pulling the 'lung away from your chest separates the bits and the straps are the things bridging the gap.

It's so automatic I had to stop and think out what I actually do.

Now you tell me how I am ever going to remember the drysuit feed more than two out of three times. That my problem. I am forever trying to get into a RIB dragging the YBOD behind me. It doesn't come.

my problem is compounded because I wear an harness weight belt and everybody goes for these buckles which are in your face, not like the inspiration snaps tucked up inside the wing out of sight, hence the white painted markers on the inspiration snaps
