| YBOD spares information... I've had a look in the Inspiration spares catalogue I've got, and can't see the following items, does anyone know if you can get the little domed manual injector sticky backed labels from AP, my diluent one has fallen off somewhere. Is there also an O-ring spares kit for the manual injectors. I dismantled mine the other day, and noticed that there was a little nick in one of the o-rings (before anyone says that I't might leak gas into the loop, it's not the one that seals the gas into the loop, but the other side, that prevents gas leaking out past the button). It appears that it was probably caused when the injector spindle was inserted into the metal body - there is a hole coming from the nipple, and I think this took a "bite" out of the o-ring. If anyone is after some cheap small waterproof containers for storing things like spares in, you can get some really neat cheap ones from Lakeland Limited, which have a nice o-ring seal, and positive closure... much cheaper than a Peli or Otter box

| Am I being stupid, or does Mrs Padowan = Ammers? Am I really that thick that I wouldn't have noticed that, or someone mention it, or have I completely lost the plot? I wondered because the avatar is the same, and the photo is in mask & box, so hard to tell, and I was just wondering really... Digs. |

| Nipples! Word of warning when you service the manual buttons. When you screw the hose nipples back in give them a gentle tweak with a pair of grips to make sure they're in tight. Driving home after a dive one day I heard a <pop> in the boot. Nothing dramatic as the cylinders were turned off. When I got around to stripping the unit down found that the O2 nipple had worked loose & had popped out. It's something I check fairly often now as it would have been a real PITA to put back together underwater. Not to mention the way LP hoses dump gas at a hideous rate. |
