Twinspirations/BOBs and the like...

Quick question on how twin RBs are used (separate loops)...

Does the redundant one have to be nurse-maided to depth? E.g. Dil added to stop the thing imploding etc or is there an ADV-arrangement to overcome this?

TIA,

John

Holy shit John,

Don't you think you should get comfortable with the one you have now before complicating things with a bailout breather

He hasn't figured the first one out yet and he's planning on a bail out. I suppose you're going to make it yourself ?. I've got some old hoover bits somewhere and plenty of old tents/Fabsil. You are going to be great fun to dive with once you look like an explosion in APs factory.

You can dry old lime out in the oven you know.

yeah its a pretty complicated affair on the one i saw in action dave apperlys twinspiration, need to keep adding dil and stuff no adv arrangment on his, just kept swapping the loops over, made me think is it worth it, two lots of cells, two lots of bottles, two lots of lungs, increased task loading, nice ammount of bailout but twice as much too go wrong in the first place!

Unles yu amek it collapsible or pressure rated, you'll have to have an ADV as I understand it, or keep adding gas to the loop on the way down, and consequesntly vent gas on the way up.

I think an ADV sounds like a good solution. I expect buoyancy control is a nightmare as well on the ascent...

Oh well might as well go for it without a ADV John, shouldn't be that much difference from your current diving.

Whatever did happen to the BOB? Sounded like a great idea at the time..As regards twin loops, I'm trying to get my head round the depth-compensation aspect. Would an ADV work? Is it really a case of manually adding on descent? Ascent has got to be a fragging nightmare. Bugger that for a game of cards, but the practicalities have got to be fascinating.

Well, we've got some serious luminaries browsing the boards nowadays, anybody got Dave Apperley's e-mail address?
