Loop covers

Do you use hose covers even on the front part of loop where there is the mouth piece ? Please post why you use or not use front hose covers.

Hi Pierre,

Personally I use covers from AP as they make me more visible both underwater and at the surface and provide a degree of protection to the hoses as they are manufactured from cordura.

Further I generally put the covers on my students units when teaching them in limited visibility too.

yep

I have purple one on the mouthpiece hoses and orange (well they were till thye faded) on the scrubber ones

there to help protect them a bit
if you ever saw my dive kit after a weekends wrecking you'd understand

I have some, just haven't fitted them yet. I was wondering how they effect the negative pressure test? As it'll be hard to see cinks in the hoses?

ah you just run a hand along them and feel it crush

and of course you get the pop when you open the mouth peice

Maybe off topic, how can you suck the breeathing hoses down without the ADV deliving air even with air dil cylinder closed?

Even with flow stop closed, I've found it best to purge air from dil side before doing negative test. I found it leaked in otherwise.

And don't leave it on negative too long. I'm not sure what the APV one is like inside but I have a reg diaphram in the Bob ADV and sucking that back down the pipe cannot be good for its life expectancy.
