Question Glue on the YBOD scrubber?

After buying Uri’s HUD I was at a loss as to where to mount the control unit. Chasey came through on this one, helpful and knowledgeable as usual (thanks again Mark) with the answer. “Velcro the thing to the bottom of the scrubber”. This I did and the Velcro has came off, I used impact adhesive. This was obviously not a good choice, trouble is I don’t know what glue to use to keep the Velcro in place. Some glues have nasty reactions with certain plastics and this scares me. After the buttock clenching moment when I drilled the hole in the scrubber lid to fit the HUD I thought I could relax the arse cheeks. Now I find I’m puckered up again worrying about melting the scrubber with some nasty glue. Someone please come to my assistance and tell me what glue will do the job with out making an arse of the plastic.

Is it possible to stick the box to the BLACK YBOD case instead just under the scrubber ?

You could do that but mounting on the scrubber seems to be a better solution.

You could put duct tape on the scrubber and put glue on the duct tape.

Duct tape is waterproof and although hard to remove will come off clean should you need to sell the unit.

Or,

Duct tape some velcro to the bottom of the scrubber

I've successfully attached mine to the bottom of the inspi scrubber by giving both the HUD and the scrubber base a good clean with a solvent and then using waterproof velcro as can be found in a good Homebase. Despite the warning on the box that when it says waterproof, it doesn't actually mean waterproof, it has lasted 16 months so far with no signs of it coming off.

U.

Thanks guys,
I'm still working on it but used some PVC pipe gule for now. I'm well pleased with the HUD Uri, I'll try and write something when I have a bit more time. Right now I'm working or diving with far to much of the former.

Dave.
