Inspiration Refit

I have an out of the box inspiration classic (old electronics), and need a refit since it's not great to be honest as it is and was looking for some advice and contacts. I know there are people on the board who might be able to supply stuff, so PM me whatever if you want to.

What I need is advice on:

- New harness, the current one is crap and I need something which does not use a crotch strap (don't like them).
- Scruber, looking at the new Inspiration or trying to find something similar or better.
- Electronics, I am thinking Vision but I might go with something else if it's more robust or better functionality.
- Cage, well its the way to go, but which one?

OR

Should I just buy a Meg?

Want to get this sorted before the season kicks off, so all advice welcome.

Alan

Start with the easy bit go with John Perrins (Kent Tooling )new cage which is imminant for release ,followed by cd wing with Hammerhead or vision electronics

If you do that can I buy it? Mine predates them and always rides up on the surface even with integrated weights. If I fit a tow strap to the scooter I'll end up with ear mounted counterlungs.

I've no idea how they fit so this may be a non-starter as an idea...

If you are changing the electronics, then I think you need to change the scrubber canister too as the new head only fits the new cannister. RBW is probably the place to ask for pros and cons of all the different options on electronics though.

Talking addy

Nigel send me an addy & either one brand new strap will drop through your door tomorrow night or I will post it on tuesday .just depends what time my daughter finishs her grading at brighton as to if i get to you or not .
dead simple to fit 1 strap with pinch clip ,loop at either end to thread over original harness .Oh and the length is adjustable

You're right, the Vision head only fits the Vision canister, and the upgrade will include both bits. But if you get a Hammerhead (for example), then that will fit your classic canister. I hear it's a 9 month wait for Vision electronics (with or without the rest of the rebreather).

I agree with Colin.

The HH electronics and scrubber is a good option. RevC is the latest version.
I dont like the CD wing as while it has great lift it doesn't keep me as high in the water as I lie when on the surface. I prefer the Inspiration standard 22kg lift wing.

Just my 2p worth !
