Good for you Elfyn, I think APD are a right bunch of cowboys for some of the horror stories which circulate about their service and crap design.

Imagine if a similar thing happened with your car.

Dealership "... so the quote for the service of your car will be £XXXX".

Punter "Thats ridiculous, I'll just take it back and service it myself"

Dealership " Sorry sir but the Ministry of Transport have advised us to have your car scrapped unles you pay our price for the service of your car, which is nesseccary due to our bad design of the car.

Sadly in the CCR arena the others look to be the same. Meg have shown their true colors over the Shearwater farce and theres an incident over on RBW where I had to read it twice because I thought it was AP the bloke was dealing with, not Meg man. Having dealt with Bruce I find it unlikely he was the main culprit in the Shearwater/Meg issue.

DeltaP weren't too good at dealing with the faults on the VR3 so Id be surprised if they were any good at sorting out the Boris but i haven't herd any complaints? Perhaps it too embarrassing to complain when you have spent £9,000 on a CCR Kevin with his Hammer Head was very hard to get hold of, incredibly slow to respond and totally unreliable but at least he would eventually send you out the replacement parts free of charge. I definitely preferred dealing with him rather than AP, but I had to deal with him far too often for my liking.

Having owned a Shearwater computer for about a year, I can say in my dealings with Bruce he has been fantastic. If i get an ECCR my next unit of choice will be controlled by a Shearwater.

yep its crazy if you look at the photos of the controllers out you will see a rust mark near the screen ,thats were i pull the corroded snapped end of a stanley blade out after an Ap service.
they must use em to prise out the controller from the body
when i stripped the potting compound on the handsets the yellow wire on one of the pins wasn't even soldered ,just held in place with the heatshrink
!

I think you should post the email Elf, It may stop someone else getting the sh*t tratment you have had. grand job on the handsets, they look great and are even better to handle, who knew you had such talents
