As Nigel says, it probably isn't the mouthpiece, but the angle of the hoses.

Moving the weights might help a bit but adjusting the hose angle by twisting the hose collars is the real key. Get it right and the whole things feels effortless. Remember to mark how they line up for when you disconnect and disinfect. You can actually set this up at home by donning the unit and then twisting the hose collars until you feel the weight of the mouthpiece 'rise' upward in your mouth. Angle the hoses outwards from your body at the T pieces also as said previously. It's amazing how much up/down and forwards/backwards movement can be obtained by doing the above. Most times, the aching jaw is due to the mouthpiece being too far forward so feels like it is going to fall out of your mouth underwater.

I have some annual leave in a few days so will try and do a 'pictorial' of how it's done - well, how I did it anyway

give it 100 dives and you will be back to the standard unit as it came out of the factory like the rest of us.

it was made, tested and stamped just right the way it is.....

Mine lasted 2 dives before I changed mouthpiece & frame ! Although be warned Gary you do look a prat when you have to leave the rear cover off, take your torch off & run the suit from your stage so you can loose the suit bottle when you go to the NDC ! I had to remove that lot just to stay off the bottom (As Ash can testify to )
