I really like the slightly longer Beaver mouthpieces. They're just like a normal mouthpiece, (same price and everything) but a bit longer.

I haven't read the whole thread so maybe repeating something already stated, just time for a quick break as we've been building rebreathers for 24 hours solid today.

I am a bit surprised if no one has mentinoned the implications of changing the actual rubber mouthpiece on the Inspiration. Alterations to the standard mouthpiece can have significant impact on the Work of Breathing. I am sure APD will provide specific advice but if a mouthpiece is fitted with a smaller bore than the diameter of the breathing hoses, inhalation and exhalation resistance increases, this effect increases directly proportional with depth and constitutes a potentially dangerous modification.

I haven't got the time for further detail but most new user problems on the inspiration can be easily rectified by effecting correct configuration of the unit rather than implementing modifications to fix problems that do not exist (or should be fixed by correct assessment and rectification of the unit setup first).

Once you start fundamentally altering specific aspects of the unit that directly influence factors such as WOB, serious judgment errors can occur that compromise the functionality of the unit as determined under pre+defined test conditions.

Regards

AnneMarie

I just put a seacure one on my KISS and its a lot more comfortable on long dives. The bite is prety big so it keeps the jaw open in the same way the large bite inspo does.

You tend to grip the thing with the back teath more and the moulding grips the teath all by its self which goes further to aleviate the jaw ache.

I have tried a few including the manta bite and its defo my favorite so far. Just make sure when you mold it you push your tounge hard against the sides to make the webbing thin. First time I left it a bit thick and it was anoying during the dive.

PS I folowed the dive it and get used to it advice. I did a year and 150+ hours before I swaped my yellow box for a deco weeny frame standard harnes and ditched standard muthpiece for a BOV.

I just wish I had done it A LOT earlier

I've put a Poseidon mouthpiece on it for now but was considering buying a SeaCure off eBay Mark, so given what you posted, I think I'll get one

And I've also moved the T pieces out a little to see if that helps as well
