| Not on my CD either? Here is the "read me" text and the notes "pdf" file is not listed as being on it?? Using the CD ROM Classroom lesson visual aids The CD-ROM contains visual aids for all the classroom lessons for each diver grade in Microsoft PowerPoint format. The directory structure is easy to navigate: Place the CD-ROM in the computer drive and, from My Computer, select and open the CD ROM drive icon. In the window there will be a folder entitled: PowerPoint. The folder contains four more folders - one for each diver grade. The files are named to correspond with the appropriate lesson code. Each file concludes with a dark blank slide to prevent un-unprofessional looking reversion to the PowerPoint screen at the end of the lesson when using a computer based presentation. If printing out the visual aids for use on OHPs, this last slide should be omitted. To use the PowerPoint files you need Microsoft PowerPoint, version 97 or later. If you do not have PowerPoint then PowerPoint Viewer is included on the CD, which allows you to run the presentations on a computer, but it will not allow any editing facilities. Theory Assessment Documentation In the folder entitled 'Assessments' are files of theory assessment papers and answer sheets. There are three different papers (A, B and C) for each diver grade. Also included are files for the Student Answer Sheet - as a master for you to print off copies. The answers for each paper are configured to 'overlay' the Student Answer Sheet exactly and it is recommended that a clear acetate foil be created to facilitate easy and accurate checking. All theory assessment files are saved as .pdf (Adobe Portable Document Format) files. You will need Adobe Acrobat Reader 3 or later to view and print these files. Software is also included on the CD-ROM - ACRORD32 [Acrobat Reader 3] and ar505enu [Acrobat Reader 5] - depending on version of Windows you are using. Acrobat Reader is also freely available as a download from www.adobe.co.uk for all operating systems. If you have any difficulty accessing these files, contact the IT department at BS-AC HQ: The British Sub-Aqua Club, Telford's Quay, South Pier Road, Ellesmere Port, Cheshire CH65 4FL Telephone: 0151-350 6200, Fax: 0151-350 6215, www.bsac.org This CD-ROM is intended for free use by the purchaser, who may use and print off any of the files contained therein for the purpose of BSAC diver training support.
