Just take all your kit and listen well.

You don't need to take notes.

Have a search for similar threads here, you are not alone.

And don't make any plans for Saturday night - you'll be busy!

Remember it's a course and not an exam.

Laters,

Take very simple kit.

Mask, fins & Snorkel. Single Cylinder, BCD & Reg with Octo. Slate to put lesson plan on. Leave everything else at home.

Bring materials to create visual aids for a theory lesson eg OHP foils & pens, flashcards & blue tac etc

Don't take notes, they're issued at the end along with a Teaching Scuba Diving Manual.

Don't work into the wee small hours creating masterpieces. Go to the evening meal instead and have a couple of pints, the instructors will be doing the same!

Enjoy yourself.

Just enjoy yourself. It's a very good course. You already know how to dive, this is only how to teach. Listen and apply!

I'm amazed as to what I remember from the course I took last Feb and am now looking forward to taking my second student through their ocean diver pool training.

Its a great course and a very good learning curve, makes you look at your diving from a different angle. However be warned you will be so knackered at the end of the weekend.

Also don't stop there, get some experience and do some of the other instructor courses, they are all good. Its probably the one thing BSAC have got right.

Ditto to all of the above

I did mine 2 weeks ago in blackpool. Good course.
Make sure your kit has an AAS one guy in our group did not !
I also took away 2 things I had not been taught how to do.

Enjoy.....Relax....I got a bit stressed over the teaching practice....I think I did better than some.

Janos's point "It is a course NOT an exam"

Nick

They won't let me do that. Apparently my hose is too long and embarrasses the other students
