Good training spots in Lancashire

Hi,

I'm new to Lancs and looking for somewhere I can teach - it's not my career, I just teach as a favour to friends. I was looking at the Delph, who appear to accept visiting instructors - do they have a pool for CW work? Anywhere else recommended?

Cheers,
CE.

I would strongly suggest this spot... Capernwray, very professionally ran, excellent response team if a shout occurs, multiple levels including training shelves and platforms..

Cool, thanks. Do they have a (heated) pool? Or do most places around here just use confined water?

No, no heated pool, its a very large converted quarry thats been turned into a very busy but excellently run dive centre, they have a classroom, projector etc which can be hired. Also an extensive dive shop offering every available item, Nitrox, Trimix, Argon fills and a great cafe with top nosh on offer and even a bar for that post dive pint..

Why don't you hook up with a local club? Lots of them have weekly sessions in local pools which would suit your needs and you may be able to return the favour by helping them out with a little instructing.

Lancs Dive Club

I dive with:

PADI affiliated, but its a club not a money making machine.

See you there?

Dive Clubs

Looks promising! I was involved with a nice PADI club in Kent, and wasn't sure how common they were elsewhere. I'm just about to head off to Jordan, but might well get involved in September if not before.

FYI, they were/are bulding a confined water area at Eccy Delph, in the shape of a rectangular pool at the water's edge. Don't know if it's got water in yet.
