Well here I am freshly back from the PIE and TIE. And...

Well I thought (and I am my worst critic) that my PIE lesson went well, covered all the essentials and a few of the non-essentials too. Apart from one bloody annoying mistake- in my enthusiasm to get a CBL dry run done I went and forgot to do a bloody buddy check. Bollocks. Did everything else though- taught an entry, did the whole control thing, really really tiny steps and corrected mistakes, everything you need in the STEP thingy. Would be a real bummer if I failed 'cos I forgot that. I did mention it to the Instructor Trainer though. If it's any consolation Tiewrap did exactly the same thing. Someone up there must have given us both a brain seizure at the same time- or more like it was nerves.

As for the TIE, the exam was fairly straight forward I thought and the lecture went well, all to plan. In the new building at Stoney too which is very nice inside (well the bits that are finished anyway).

Have to wait for the results now...... watch this space.

Faster results!

Give it a few days and ring BSAC HQ and ask if you passed, thats what i did, they were quite happy to let you know when I did mine in 2003.

Cheers,

Gareth.

It depends on how soon the course boss gets the results into HQ so they can be approved by the OWI chief and then processed. Try ringing tomorrow or friday. Remember that the people who give you the results are probably not divers therefore they will not know what a CBL etc is, wait for your comments to ask the "why" questions in the event of bad news.

Paul
