Do you think PADI would like me as their recruitment officer? I can lie if the money is right. And we all know the instructors always get the best looking clients flirting with them!!! so need for instructors to flirt, just timetable their customer relations. And all the nasty jobs get delegated to the DM's. Yours sincerely Mr Two faced!!!!

The days of doing your Dive Master course in a lake are over. If you look at the new requirements, to complete the course, you must have dived in a variety of conditions (temperatures, viz, currents etc) including saltwater. Tony

I stopped doing DM when I couldn't get HSE medical any more but it would still be nice to finish it one day (I've started so I'll...) but I guess that can't happen now. Sad really. OK I might have to work up to the swims now.... |

My thoughts are that every DM should have gained some experience in the sea. If you manage to fill the requirements as trainee DM as outlined above, ie lakes(temperatures, viz) Rivers (currents) presumably then you don't HAVE to dive in the sea and can still be certified?

Ahh the days of being a DMT and getting all the bum jobs..... The old line from the instructors, "I would help you put those sixteen 12L cylinders in the van but I have to discuss skills with the students....." (said with smug gaze). But it was damn good fun and being in warm water (Cook Islands) meant that lots of young ladies would turn up to dive wearing very little... ...my only rule from the bosses was "Certification before Fornication". Fair play I thought ![]()

Hi Ya First off let me say DO the DM course. I qualified about 18 months ago and love it, the course is challenging and hard work with a lot of content but the rewards are fantastic. I did my DM training with London Scool Of Diving who are fantastic and not that far from wraysbury, in fact a lot of the training is done at wraysbury but with options of doing stuff at the coast. Thats about enough of my rambling jabber for now. Hope you enjoy the DM course whoever you chose to train with. Later
