Thumbs down PADI-National Geographic Instructor Insurance?

To those Padi Instructors who teach the National Geographic Open Water Course through a NG Dive Centre, Padi have changed the insurance requirements for instructors as from 1st Sept.Even if you comply with Padi requirements ie. Dan with optional liability cover this is now not enough to teach the NG course as they state to do this you must have a Padi sponsored policy. This is the only course that requires the extra insurance (an extra £78 till June 2006). Thats one course I'll be not teaching in the future.Seems like the thin end of the wedge.

Not sure about that, i thought the wording was PADI approved or something like that. My centre insures all my staff through westfield and divemaster. This is not the PADI insurance, we are an NG centre and teach the course.

Where did you see that written?

Brian

NG Insurance

Thew
Information is in the National Geographic update sent to NG Dive centres from Padi last week. It also mentions a NG Specialty course etc. Contact Neil Fishbourne at Padi for further info.
