have a good look at their kit in the buddy check, ie, they are wearing size 7 full foot fins and your size 11 open heal with boots, is fun |

Choose to do what you consider to be the most stressful bit first, then re-establish a good breathing rhythm before continuing and trust your buddy. |

| I nearly drowned laughing. Being a reasonably good freediver made up for my buddy's poor hand back skills. Be well weighted. Once the fins come off you'll be amazed how immobile you become. |

| Start in each others kit and swap into your own - easier to get into your own, especially if size differences Dave.

OK, so swapping into your own kit makes it a bit easier. As the whole idea is to test your ability to cope under stress (not your ability to swap kit), strictly speaking any advice that makes it easier could maybe be viewed as a bit of a cheat - not sure why this particular bit is any more a non starter than any other advice...? Anyway, to be honest, the bottom line is you need to be able to deal with stress underwater calmly and rationally - if you can't do a kit swap with ease (with or without advice), I'd say you should consider getting more time in the water... Dave.
