PADI RD with Twins and Wings

I thought I posted this last night but I can't find it in this sub-forum.

I am trying to tee up an RD course but as my buddy and I dive with twins and a single piece harness and wing, can you do the course (from a PADI POV) with this kit or do you need a different setup? I can get hold of a BCD but as I do nearly all my diving with this rig I thought it would be better to do the course with what I dive.

Thanks

Son, you're going to have to make up your mind about growing up and becoming aircrew. You can't do both.

The aircraft limits are only there in case there is another flight by that particular aircraft. If subsequent flights do not appear likely, there are no limits.

Ask the instructor. If you want to know about specific requirements for people using this kind of kit it would probably best if you did it with an instructor who used that kit

Exactly. Its what I did, twins and wings. Bloody hard work though.
Buddy cant get a grip of your tank(s) to stop you spinning or cant get his arm round you to hold the reg in. Best done in what you dive though.
AFAIK there are no set rules for what you 'must' do the course in kitwise.
Well worth the effort. You WILL get a lot out of it.
When/where are you doing it. Do you need any 'bodies'?

Matt

My thoughts exactly.

You may wish to consider whether you need to do PADI rescue or whether you would be better served by a technical rescue course such as the IANTD one.

I did both - combined - with Frank from e-aquanauts. Hard work but good fun and relevant.

Looking here and here may help...

Sod that for a game of soldiers, I strongly recomend using a single, damn hard work towing a diver with twins on.

Thanks Gledders. I am looking to the future and getting a PADI OWSI qual which is why I was looking at the PADI RD. I have just rung PADI and they have confirmed that the IANTD qual would allow me to progress to PADI DM without doing PADI RD and would allow me to teach PADI RD in the future too.

I will email Frank tonight re: dates and prices for the IANTD RD course.

Thanks again.

I could be interested in that too... I did the PADI RD course a couple of years back and whilst it was a good course it's not entirely relevant to the diving I do now (twins, single piece harness etc).

That is combined PADI and IANTD with Dan o2 etc. I have First Aid but Frank can also do the EFR if needed.
