| I did the course in January, I was very nervous with memories of my IDC... but it was nothing like it. Very relaxed, no pressure, aim was to help you build your coaching skills. I think it's worth having FAW as I think you can then apply for FAW IT at the time. |

| thanks seastar i'd happily do the faw bit, like you say probably worth having. do you do that at the same time? extra cost? jp |

| I may be wrong... but I think if you already have a current 4 day first aid at work, then when you do the IT they will certify you at the same time - nothing extra is required. JamesW (on YD) was on the course and had his - he'd probably be able to confirm better than me. Last edited by SeaStar : 12-07-08 at 07:40 PM. |

| You will need to have the full FAW 4 day course certification prior to attending the FAW IT course. This can be a course done by any FAW approved provider and doesn't need to be EFR. Steve

| Hi I was on the same EFR IT course as Seastar. It was a lot easier than I thought. Because I allready had my EFR FAW Instructor I just paid for the EFR FAW IT upgrade £69 ish I think. The EFR courses are good apart from the one person log roll in the primary care part. Don't know what others think? The course is well worth doing.

| I am thinking of doing this as well. I am already a FAW instructor, so being an EFR and FAW IT would be good.

| Having FAW Instructor will be worth it once the new guidelines come in next year. 4 day course is becoming 3 day, and a new 1 day course EFAW being introduced. It's likely both will be valid for 3 years - but an annual refresher will also be required. More info here: http://www.hse.gov.uk/firstaid/revie...dproviders.pdf Workplace first aid changes |
