Hi.
When erindoors learned to dive, It fell to me to take her on her first open water dive in Wales, something went wrong and she sat on this rock crying her eyes out, me trying to comfort her and persuade her to try again.
Finally getting to the end of my tether I shouted "You will never make a diver while ever I have a hole in my arse", that was over 30 years ago and thousands of dives together.
I am very proud of her, but I wouldn't say that!.

when I did my OW course, we were told to jump in the pool, do 15 lengths then tread water for 10-15 mins or something. 2 shocked Canadians (yeah, expect it from yanks, but normally canadians are a bit better!) said "what? we can't do that, we can't swim". they went away and learnt to swim, but why the fcuk would you enroll onto a diving course, if you can't swim!?!?!?!?! I bumped into them later on, well, one of them bumped into me actually, and then he clonked my mrs on her head with his tank 'cos he was too busy giving me abuse 'cos I stopped too quickly!!! i flipped him the bird and so he doggy paddled off. yeah, I can totally understand people using their hands to move around, who doesn't do that when they're new to diving. but his legs were doing the doggy paddle too. worst. swimmer. ever.
i had a student ask why it went all blury when he took his mask off and if it was the same for me.
diver ..diver......... inflate your weights and drop your bcd.
