Last year, when I did my CBL as part of my DL, before going into water, our TO explained what he wanted to see done for the drill and also that BSAC no longer allow a CBL to the surface, so we had to stop a 6mtrs separate then make our separate way to the surface and once at the surface resume the drill. I take it this has this changed again then as it seems the trainees where going to the surface from 6mtrs, or is it due to the fact that the CBL is done from deeper on the DL drill??
In memory of my father:
And so this soldier, this Scottish soldier
Will wander far no more, and soldier far no more
And on a hillside, a Scottish hillside
You'll see a piper play his soldier home
I never found out whether it was an urban/ diver myth about the rescue breaths on the fore head but I use that 'story' when my students complain about having to practice rescue breaths properly using the nose.
Does anyone know if it actually happened?
Also I was once at a training weekend where there was a real incident and nobody responded because they thought it was just another drill. The casualty was screaming in panic and people thought she was acting :-s
So it can be hard to get the balance right.
And as to putting negative feed back to people who just insult new people to a forum I don't think that is unreasonable. You gave a pointless unhelpful response so what did you expect?
And you've missed my point.
The time to have asked this question was when you were being taught or when you were being taught to teach.
Asking after you have started teaching someone else is crazy and is exactly acting like a zombie repeating what you have been told.

Now known as No. 1 son of a pikey diver........ Oh the shame of it

Yes DL is just to 6m I was doing SD training.
Actually I never insulted you, I asked a question.
Now, seeing as you've blobbed all and sundry we may as well do what we have been accused off.
Answering ridiculous questions, from a 'sheep-like' novice instructor and then being given grief when the immature childish 'so called' instructor complains just gets peoples backs up.
Enjoy your time here, all divers are welcome, but I (and I doubt I am alone) do not accept instructors that cannot think for themselves and cannot objectively evaluate procedures BEFORE teaching them to students.
We may not all agree here, but we do have a well thought out and valid reason for what we teach, otherwise why bother.
Now, run along troll.
