Yet another newbie

Greetings one and all, Gareths the name but Oi you will do if you have trouble remembering.

I've been lurking around here for a week or so and decided that tonight was a good time to escape from the closet. Well it was her fault for leaving the door unlocked .... or could it have been the gallon of Shepherds Neames' finest falling down water .... Whatever, you seem like a nice bunch of guys and gals and my therapist says I should get out more ... so here i am.

Diving, I haven't done much yet. A few days snorkelling off the reef in Jeddah and a try dive in Corfu a few years ago. This year I took the plunge, literally, and completed the OW course in Turkey about 4 weeks ago. I'm hoping to do the AOW course soon if my benevolent employers let me stay in one place long enough. Does anyone have any reccomendations for a decent dive club within reach of Crawley, if not, how about an indecent one?

Cheers

Dominic is the one you want for Crawley and West Sussex.

I think he is/was in CRABSAC?

Depends what you want in/out of a club though - d'you wish to stay PADI, go BSAC or just dive?

Shepherds Neames' - much do I owe the pleasure of.....

Welcome!

Thumbs up Welcome Gareth!

Welcome to YD and get in amongst it mate!

The Southern contingent will be along shortly to recommend dive outfits in your neck of the woods, but please feel free to ask any questions you like and we'll certainly help where we can!

Cheers,

Be as nosey as you like, I've nuffin to hide .... much

I did my OW with the European Diving Centre in Ichmeler, probably the same mob as you did yours with I suspect. They seemed very professional in my limited experience and yes, I would recommend them.

Cheers

Welcome, sounds weird as I am new myself but had to but in, I was just reminded of EDC who I dived with out of Fethiye. I was told before that there was no life in Turkish diving but was greatly suprised by the amount of life I came across. Anyway nothing to do with saying hello so Hi!!

Hi Gareth,

welcome to YD, hope you enjoy it, in regard to the EDC I too can recommend them I trusted them with my 9 and 11 year olds for their 1st sea dives.

Safe diving,
Steve.
