Sorry for the late introduction!!

Hi all,

I'm Martin Jones, owner of Swanage Boat Charters. I own two hardboats, 'Mary Jo' and 'Sidewinder'. I skipper 'Mary Jo' on a DAILY basis, whilst Dave Laut ('Sidewinder Sleeps Tonight') skippers Sidewinder for me on weekends.

I bought the business from Titch, 3 years ago and for many years I had my own rib. I have been diving for the past 15 years, 7 years as a PADI Divemaster with over 400+ dives logged, mainly in the UK.

Most memorable dives. UK - Ladies Hole (real name!) near Beadnell, NE of England. I had an 18 inch bright orange common octopus on my hand, incredible!

ABROAD - Aida 2 on Big Brother (not the TV programme!), most photogenic wreck ever, amazing!

Both boats carry all the safety equipment required to comply with MCA regulations including O2, both Dave and I are trained to use it. If there's anything we can help you with please ask and we will try our best to help. I keep some spare kit on board 'Mary Jo' fins, spare mask straps etc in case of problems. For those of you who have never dived in Swanage before (nr. Poole/Bournemouth) it is ideal for trainees, novice and experienced divers.

I will try my best to keep you informed of any future dives we have planned (or at least my wife, Patricia, will). Failing that please give us a call and hopefully we will see you aboard soon.

Hi Martin,

Swanage is for UK diving. My club, Hellfins keeps our boat at Shell Bay, and so we're often out on the pier at lunchtime on weekends. Although occasionally (more and more often of late) we let someone else do the hard work and charter a boat!

It's a lot less stress that way

Mike, who skippers the Prawn, is on the boards but I bet you knew that already.

Anyway, welcome.

Janos

Hi Martin,

Used Sidewinder and Mary Jo a few times last year, have Sidewinder booked again for a weekend in August - looking forward to finally doing the Firth Fisher after getting blown out last year

Enjoy YD.

edit: ps. Thanks for letting us use your shotline on the Kyarra back in April. Our echo sounder had broken down
