Question Hello All

Hi There,

Just joined the forum I dive a fair amount abroad, and some in the UK (off Eastbourne mostly).........I'm starting to creep into deco diving and think it's about time I got some instruction, rather than waiting for my computer to tell me I've got 10mins of stops, then beginning my ascent. Any suggestions ?

Whoops - I forgot to mention ........... (as requested in the Introduction guidelines)
* Found YD by searching for diving links on the web
* I live in Eastbourne - but don't have a zimmer frame (yet)
* I dive mostly abroad, but also in UK - Eastbourne, Cornwall, Vobster (last Feb in wetsuit, brrrr)
* Am not that new to diving (320 dives), but am looking to do more in the UK
* Did my BSAC 3rd class diver in the 80's, but then gave it up. Started again a couple of years ago; now PADI DM.
* Love the Red Sea - Sharm & liveaboards; going to Grenada in Dec

Welcome to the boards,

can't give you any help with the deco stuff, but I know what you mean about wanting to learn a bit more...

Have fun and best of luck with the training.

Hi Mate

Good attitude, glad to have you as a member.

Staying alive is one of my top priorities when I do deco diving, staying out of hospital is a close second. Get the training and read your computers manual, get someong to explain it to you, it's amazing the no. of divers that don't actualy understand wht there computer tells them in deco mode and have no idea about gas planning. Don't be one of them.

James

Sounds like you have a sensible plan to me. I'd contact Mark Powell, a YDer and superb technical instructor. You can catch him at www.dive-tech.co.uk, he's trained quite a few of us southerners now.
