Hi Vicky

From one chick to another!!!!

I also did my first Uk dives up at the cape and had a bit of a fright on one occasion when I got floaty feet and my hubbie had to sit on my legs whilst I clung to a rock and vented the offending air...

Here I am several months later diving in the offending suit in the UK seas and loving evry minute of it. Time to bite the bullet and get back in there girl and prove to yourself that you can get back in there again. There are plenty of people on here to help yourself ease back into things...maybe with a few shallow pootles around the cape...

Let us know how you get on...we're also a nosey bunch too

Hello all .... (again!!)

Right, i've decided i am going to get back into diving! You've all pushed me in the right direction!!!

Capernwray is only about an hour from me, and i can hire my kit there!! Now all i need is the weather to turn a bit warmer for me! I was thinkin early spring??!! I far too much of a wimp to brave the winter water!!!

I will let you all know when i'm gonna head up there for a refresher course, so if you're in the area....

You could also try Eccleston Delph - a bit closer to home. Good luck and don't let the dry suit thing put you off!

Good on ya Vicky, just remember - at the moment, the water is usually warmer than the air. Last night my hood nearly froze solid on my surface interval and needed to be "coaxed" back into shape :0

Spring!?! For pity's sake woman, us 'ard northern bastards have a reputation to maintain! We need to keep those southern, shandy drinking jessies in line and the way to do it is by proving how thoroughly tough we are by diving in stupidly cold water!

Actually, water temperatures at inland sites will be better now than in early spring. By March the ponds will have cooled down over the winter and will be at their coldest. You're better off picking a mild day sooner rather than later.

I'll be at Stoney tomorrow in sub-zero temperatures, just maintaining the myth!

Freezing cold pond? or.............
Housework, domestic chores and shopping (and not for shiny dive-tat either).

Guess what gets my vote?
