Though that I should really say Hi

Hi

I have posted a few times, and read a fair bit on the boards, but thought that it was about time that I actually introduced my self.

I am a Techie wannabe, but am really just a recreational novice in practice.

I have been skin diving for years in various warm places, then had the opportunity to go Scuba Diving in Corfu whilst on holiday - I was hooked!

I spoke with a couple of the other divers who were qualified either with PADI or BSAC and decided that when I got back home I was going to find out more. So, I looked about, took some advise then decided to go with PADI.

I paid an instructor my OW fee and he promptly disappeared off the face of the map without a trace

I then found another PADI school and turned up at a lesson before parting with any money this time Thankfully, these were decent people and I did my OW, AOW and Nitrox with them over the next while.

Of course, when I did my first dive in Corfu, it was in wonderful Vis with blue water and I was wearing a 3mm shortie. Now I think that I am getting wonderful Vis if I get 5m, and am waiting on my dry suit 'cause the two piece titanium lined semi-dry is just too cold at the moment - Hmm, a bit of a change!

But, I am happy to learn here as I reckon that anywhere else will be easier diving. Anyhow, there are not too many bitey and stingy things in UK waters - it's too cold for them

So, when I get a bit more training and experience, I hope to see a few of you at a future Scapa gig.

In the meantime, I am thinking about joining my local BSAC (after I do EFR and Rescue Diver) to have a few more people to dive with.

BTW Why aren't there any scuba smilies on this board
