Hey Mark, good to see you on here at last

Enjoy the board and hope to see you at the Cape again in the future.

As far as diving the Red Sea goes, you should be able to hook up with someone who will take you on some stunning, but not too challenging dives. They don't need to be any deeper than the Cape or Stoney, but you will probably notice the difference

Hi Paul, by "typical" I was referring to my training path. I've heard that when you learn on holiday it can be quite a shock when you dive back home.

I see you live in Brigg, we were originally from Scawby down the road. Where do you normally go diving, there doesn't seem to be that much available around that neck of the woods (inland at least).

Only then, we realised there were ropes between them all! Obviously a cracking idea since we covered everything then simply by following the ropes. But looking back, if you try a dive site which has ropes between everything, surely that's a bad sign in terms of viz

We use Gildy for training, relaxed and easy to get to for early training dives, plus a 10.30 start helps....

Hi Paul,
We are aware of one another now
Are BSAC and PADI allowed to mix round here? from what i've read and seen there seems to be some sort of rivalry between all the various groups.Daft really, as were all in it to do the same thing, DIVE!!!
Always glad to find new people to dive with, especially if there so close. Let us know if you fancy a trip out sometime.

Welcome to the nuthouse Markybish.

The only thing you have to remember is...if you ever dive the SE and see a guy in a multicoloured drysuit with a deviled horned hood struggling with a YBOD please help him.....it may well be me.

I'm a member of BSAC club in Scunthorpe. We have our own club RIB and, weather permitting, use it off Hornsea/Bridlington. Often have trips to dear old Stoney Cove but we've also used 8-Acres and even Ashby Ville (next to Morrison's) for training. Hope to have a look at Blue Lagoon in the not so distant future - had a look round in November and it seemed okay - shallow but ok for training and starting up for the season.

Use the Britannia in Brigg (not for diving of course)

All the Best

Paul
