Hi to you all.

Hello, my introduction.

I am fairly new to diving, completed my padi OW in November and am looking to doing my AOW quite soon.

My dives so far have been at Capernwray and Stoney and am looking at trying a few dives when i go St Lucia at the end of the year. (any tips/advice on the diving there much appreciated).

Although not living in Yorkshire ( my grandmother still is does that count ?, dont thnk she dives very often though!) i have enjoyed the threads on this site..both the serious and humourous so thought i will join up and bother you all with newbie questions.

Rob

Welcome to the site Rob, ask away with your questions

You should enjoy the diving in St Lucia if you've only experienced the Cape and Stoney so far! I only did a few dives when we were out there (wasn't qualified at the time, so these were just try dives) but the visibility was superb and the marine life plentiful. I can't comment on the dive operators on the island, we were staying at Sandals so the diving was included

Hi Rob,

welcome to YD.

Never worry about asking questions, everyone here will help (some more helpful than others!).

I went to St.Lucia years ago...wasn't qualified, but did a few try dives with a company called Scuba St. Lucia - I'm sure they are still operating... based at the foot of Les Pitons - with a Marine Park straight off the beach! Don't think you'll go wrong there - it'll certainly be a change from the Cape or Stoney.

Maybe get a chance to dive with you one day?
