Hello to all from Sacramento, California.  I know its a long way from the UK, but I plan on visiting at least twice a year so I thought I'd join this board.

I'm currently a PADI Divemaster candidate through a local dive shop.  I dive in Montery, CA and locally in a lake.  In April I was in Anglesey and dove somewhere in the Irish sea... I think.  It was a lot like Monterey.

Anyway, I'll be coming to Manchester in September and am looking for dive sites near by.  From a quick internet search, it looks like there may be some interesting wrecks in Liverpool Bay that I'd like to see.

Tony

<font color='#0000FF'>Yo Tony dude, glad to see the name of the site didn't deter you too much.
Monteray eh? I have a special fondness for Monteray as it was a visit to the Sea Aquarium which prompted me to go to University to study Zoology/Marine biology stuff, a very nice part of the world.
Do you encounter the sea otters when diving, if so I'll be extremely jealous &nbsp;

We get both sea otters and sea lions in Monterey. &nbsp;Up until a week ago there were so many sea lions they were over running the parking lot!

Our first dive after we were certified, my wife and I were out diving and the only ones in the water. &nbsp;We were about to descend and I felt a tapping on my shoulder, when I turned around it was an otter! &nbsp;Before I could say anything, it zipped under the water and came up right in front of my wife and grabbed her hand with its flippers. &nbsp;Pretty startling.

Unfortunately because it had no fear of divers we had to report it to the Aquarium so they could go and catch it because there are those divers out there who may actually do it harm.

Wow! YD hits another continent. Welcome aboard Tony - look forward to reading your posts and feel free to invite any of your mates to the boards too. Lets see if we can get YDers from all 6 continents! (Admitted, Antarctic may prove tricky!)

Hey Tony,

Can concord with the sea otter and sea-lion fun. I dived Catalina Island (kelp-fields) in '95 and had immense fun. I was living in Rancho Palos Verdes (RPV), which isn't too far from you.

Like the boss says, bring your friends and when you get to the UK, look me up: I live in Manchester and we dive Anglesey regularly - so consider yourself invited on all our dive trips whilst you're over in the UK!

Take care and see ya soon mate.

Hi Tony and welcome

My fiancé (Immi) and I are looking to do some diving in Montery, we'll be there in early August. Can you recommend and local dive centre we can hire equipment from and ask for guided dives.

Cheers mate
