| Imported post Hi Simon Look forward to meeting you both in El Gouna. Can't wait to get back Hi Diving Dude I have been on Dive Eclipse but usually with the Guildford BSAC crowd. Don't usually bring the cakes but do try snogging the skipper to get the best tides

| Imported post Happy New Year Everyone. I have just returned from 16 days in El Gouna and am pleased to report (as promised) that after some extensive research into the restaurants in El Gouna that I have had no problems with stomach bugs Anyhow, diving was wonderful. Wore a drysuit which was quite warm underwater with the water temperature of 24 degrees but the wind is chilly when you get out and when you prepare for the afternoon dive. Daytime temperature was up to 25 degrees on Christmas Day but you need a jacket in the evening. Dived the Thistlegorm and Giannis D and many beautiful scenic sites. Went horseriding on the last day and am still suffering from feeling muscles I haven't used for nearly 20 years! It was wonderful though. The stables are five minutes walk away across the sand and you ride out into the desert then down to the beach and return as the sun is setting behind the mountains. I'll write up a report on restaurants, diving, nightlife, shopping, travel, etc. soon. Am I pleased to be back? Absolutely not

| Imported post Sabah al-nuur wa ahlan wa sahlan ya habebti! Tip top tip - don't eat the rice if you want a quiet life in the trouser department. This sucks as kusheri is one of the undiscovered delicacies Egypt has to offer - and is mainly rice! DOH! And there is my never-ending love affair with the lovely Stella...who seems to hate my guts by the way she treats me... Welcome to YD. |

| Imported post Shukran Mdemon. Tasharafna be-me Arefatak. I agree about the rice. I avoided it too as it is a high risk food for food poisoning. Drank the local Sakara beer when I was out and Duty Free Gin enjoying the sun set on the roof terrace

| Imported post Ishta gidan! I bought a bottle of duty free Gin last time - but couldn't find the tonic! Doh! Stella is local too... Set up by the Carlsburg brewery in Cairo or something like that. Took a bottle home once...it doesn't travel... |
