sounds like you need to find either a local dive shop or a local BSAC club and take it from there. If you let us know whereabouts your from in the country then i'm pretty sure the great YD will be able to find something for you.

Welcome Kat

The main 2 ways is through the two main training agencies - PADI (professional Association of Dive Instructors) or BSAC (British Sub Aqua Club)

PADI is course and qualification based where the school will train you so that you can take our qualification adn dive wherever your cert is accepted (which is effectively anywhere)
BSAC operates on a club system where you join and get on-the-go training from the other instructor level divers in the club

The entry level courses are pretty much the same in content

the most important part is to choose a good instructor - regardless of agency - and while there are lots of overseas dive tuition the UK teaching is of a consistently high quality (IMHO)
