1964 - 1800 PSI cylinder, Mistral twin Hose Valve and home made wetsuit.

1967 - 200 feet (60M) on a single 80cuft cylinder (9.6l modern equivalent), no resilience whatsoever. Modern valve - single hose Dacor 200.

1967 - 135 feet (41M) 20mins plus 5 mins deco on a 50cuft cylinder (6l modern equivalent)

1969 - 225 feet on air.

The thought of it is enough to give me sleepless nights these days. Somehow I survived and I have to say that my diving is far more conservative nowadays.

PS found my old SOS Decompression Meter in a box in the garage the other day - the VR3 of the late 60's.

Decompression Meter? Luxury!

We made do with the BSAC/RNPL 1972 Air Diving Table.

A simple choice, either a fortnight between dives or a fortnight at 5m after the second dive.

Anyway, as we're at an AA meeting, I've got a flat battery. Where's that nice man?

You shouldn't be talking about yourself in this way at your age! Why you are only a .......... oh .......... I see! Well, you be careful young lady or else someone might end up across someone's knee with their pants down getting a swift paddling! We could do that in the good old days you know ........ not only was it allowed, it was expected!!!

How did this happen? I was the one warning everybody of the danger of alien admins and mods and owners. I adopted an alien persona in order to ingratiate myself with the aliens and to try and learn details of their master plan to take over the world! Still, probably be better that the world run by the PC nanny state?

I own one of the toughest diving beanies going and I get accused of being Compo and mis using a tea cosy by wearing it on my head! FFS, what do I have to do ...........
