| YD intro ditty In the year of two thousand and three Someone said “you should join YD” So up I signed in the boxes depicted And sad to say, was soon quite addicted. No time to think or to rehearse I told the world I was a nurse In came the greens from the sad and forlorn Enquiring about my uniform, Did I wear stockings? Was I good at reviving? I thought “maybe this site is not about diving”. So here’s my re-intro, I’m no longer a nurse And I’ve had a few months to think and rehearse… I started to dive in a local pool I bobbed up and down and half drowned like a fool Then to the sea to fall off a boat Thought “cor, this is good”, as a swam to the float “there’s kelp, there’s a crab, and a fish, how exciting” And the watery world became so enticing. Kept going to lessons and taking abuse From salty old seadogs who thought me obtuse I learned how to hover and all of the tricks A pee in your wetsuit gives a heat fix Don’t come up fast or you’ll get the bends Share all your chocolate and then you’ll make friends. I’ve dived in wales, up north and down south Got salt in my hair and my ears and my mouth I’ve dived in Oz, the States and the med And become an instructor to improve my cred I’m still learning, I still make mistakes I forget things and lose things and jump in without weights But it’s all good fun and I love it you see That’s why I’m addicted to the site that’s “YD”.
