Hello and welcome. Could I ask you which resort in the Maldives you went to as I am going next year and have no idea what to expect. I am also a newbie and have not even dived in the sea yet, first time in the sea in Oban in two weeks.

We're in Ely, nr Cambridge, so Guildy is close to us. Not tried diving on Norfolk coast yet - anyone had any experience of it??? Other half has been diving in Anglesey for approx 15 yrs though so he knows it well and is a great guide!

we took a couple of ribs out of sea pallin this year
great diving but you need to talk to locals cos we hit the tides wrong and had some pretty exciting drift dives!

there is some good diving though but to start with unless meeting uo with local you may be better going else where!
although someone will say different!!!!

We went to Summer island, North Male atol. I wouldn't go back, but others we met whilst there did recommend the Ari Atol as being much better. Where we were the reefs had suffered a lot of damage from El nino and were only just starting to recover really.
Oban is meant to be really good, you lucky thing! I'm hankering after a trip out to the Farne Isles...but probably not til next year now...unless Santa brings me an extra weeks' leave from work?!!

Look in the planned trips forum there are a couple of trips to the Farnes -even if they are full get your name down as a sub - there are always last minute spaces as people have to drop out
