And it's hello from me...

Hi all!

By way of introduction, I've been diving since 1990 and did my initial training with Pontefract branch of the BSAC (if there's anyone from Ponte on here, hello!).

For the last few years I've been diving to suit myself and indulge my two main underwater interests, wrecks and photography, not necessarily in that order, or perhaps they are.

Since I was made redundant last year diving has become an increasingly important part of my life, and after years of being a consumer of liveaboards and magazines I now run the specialist wreck tours for Tony Backhurst and write in Diver magazine, mostly humour.

I'm interested in wrecks primarily because of their context and the history surrounding the remains we see rather than the minutiae of engine capacity or number of blades on the prop, for example.

I shoot digital these days (Who doesn't?) but have a good grounding in film as well, having worked as a semi-pro for almost thirty five years one way and another.

All the stuff on here will be posted in a purely private capacity, needless to say, and I'm looking forward to getting involved!

All the best,

Mike.
