I used to spend happy weekends in Reading, trying to remember - The back of beyond, The monks retreat, The Poonah (sp!), some old boozer off London Road - happy days.
The old baths is still there at King's Meadow, full of yukky river water, and rapidly falling apart. There is discussion as to whether it should be knocked down, or renovated as it is of historical interest. I'm not sure if Reading BSAC still meet there, I've not been there for a while.

I didn't know you could have a "happy weekend" in Reading! I spend most weekends trying to get away. But there is always an old boozer (or two) on the London Road.

Annie

Don't wrestle with a pig. You'll only get as dirty as the pig & the pig likes it

That's it, looked like a Turkish Brothel served a good bottle of the brown stuff.

I say again - happy days.
