Heellooo!!!

Greetings YD,

Been lurking for a few months and thought it was about time I joined in (and it's friday at work with little to do )...

Am a recently qualified Advanced OW with a few logs in the book (how can you be advanced with total number of dives in single digits, I don't know) and really keen to build up my experience. Did my OW in Zanzibar (brilliant) and my AOW on the South Coast and that's really the limit of my experience - so you see I need to get out more! I've started building up my kit as well so now have a dry suit to try out...

Oh, and I have hayfever induced asthma (which kicked off last year) so I'm not sure on the diving in the summer - will have to wait and see how my chest is. Really frustrating that one .

That's me! Hello! <waves frantically and grins>
Louise.

Lep,

Hello and welcome. I hope all goes well with the diving and that the Hayfever is not an issue for you.

Welcome to the forums, your allergic condition sounds like a dampener to the UK diving scene. Looks like diving Feutaventura (sp?), Lanzarote, Red Sea is your best bet (desert conditions, no pollen!).

Try a diving doctor for advice; I have the same thing but triggered by animal fur, mainly horses. Vit. C and zinc supplements always worth a try.

Lou

Hi, and welcome to the good ship YD.

Glad you've decided to join us after lurking in the background for a while...

Bit of a bummer about the asthma, hopefully it will resolve itself, so that you can sample the delights of UK diving.

Pete
