Thumbs up Aloha!

Hi all, I have recently moved down to Yorkshire (Leeds) from the North East and although I stumbled accross this board a year or two ago had forgotten all about it!

I have done a lot of warm water diving in Oz and Thailand and a little up the North East coast (but not nearly enough!)

I used to teach PADI courses whilst abroad (one year of teaching) but haven't had a lot of experience of the UK and all it has to offer so Im looking for buddies, groups anyone to get me slowly back into the swing of things!

Oh yeah and somewhere to keep me occupied during my lunchbreaks

Jeez Im not even sure when the dive season really kicks off in England!

Anyway just wanting to introdue myself

Hope to speak to you all soon!

Chris

Welcome to YD.

Always lots going on here... the UK season is just about to get underway... I suppose Easter is classed by many as the beginning of the season, but there are quite a few on here who dive through.... brrrrr

Have fun...

Welcome to YD,

there should be plenty to keep you interested at lunchtimes

Does the diving season, really ever finish ?
My last UK sea dive last year, was in early November. But I canned the dive, as I was being knocked around by the swell at 42m

A few years ago, I dived the wreck of the City of Brussels in Liverpool Bay, the date.... 22nd December. Interesting trip back to shore tho, and also found an unexpected feature of the VHF when operated with a 'wet' hand

Hi and welcome. Lots of interesting posts on the forum from keen divers. I normally do the quarry thing from around November 'till April (with some Sharm or Malta thrown in). Then sea trips around that. Can be a bit cold in the quarries in winter, the coldest month is Feb I would say and this year it got to 6 degrees. This is significantly warmer than say 10 years ago when 2 degrees was the norm in Feb.

There is good sea diving in Scotland - sound of mull, islands, scapa. Also Anglesey has lots to offer too. The Farnes is also a good bet. Enjoy.

Lyv

Hi Chris,

A warm welcome to YD, and enjoy the boards.

Safe diving,

P.S. I dive in the UK all year
