Name: Oliver

First Qualified: December 2005

Club: Batmacumba! Loving the Brazilian Drum and Bass...

Highest Diving Qualification: I never dive while loaded - and find it best not to take tests loaded either.

Instructor Yes/No: I can teach even the most lacking in balance and confidence to ride a bike.

Other training/most rewarding: Learning to drive. Only learnt a few years ago.

Standard kit: Whatever the hire centre gives me. Apart from my own mask and booties. Mmmn - comfortable feet......

Usual dive place: Red Sea ( for now )

How many:51

Deepest: ahem... 30m honest.....

Longest: 65min

Favourite: That one where you go down, and it gets deeper, and then you see all that stuff, and you go through that bit and then round there, and it all looks amaaaaaaazing, and then its over and you think - Ugh, who left all this dry stuff out here, let me get back in the water.

Worst: The one where your a bit concerned about your buddy, and theres too many divers in your group, and your not sure if your bouyancy is right and your either breathing right at the top of your lung capacity or right at the bottom, and your checking your air and your depth all the time, and did I mention being concerned about your buddy.....and then its over and your buddy says 'wow, that was great - did you see the "????"' and you think your not sure you remember seeing anything other than your pressure guage and your buddy.

Most like to: Do more diving.

Question should have asked: Flipper or Fin?

New Member, New Diver. Any Local Buddies Available?

Just returned from 2 weeks in Sharm.
Learned to Dive. (Been an ambition for years)
Got totally bitten by the bug. Extended my holiday by an extra week!
Had Yorkshire Divers site recommended by a dive colleague.
Ended up with 20 open water dives after holiday.
Now looking for UK diving. Good local BSAC club and new dive buddies.

None at present, but looking.

Highest Diving Qualification
PADI Advanced Open Water, with Nitrox Certification

Instructor Yes/No
No

What other training have you found most rewarding
Nitrox is great for 3+ dives a day. Doesn't feel like you've run 12 miles after.

What’s your standard Kit

12ltrs, looking to get 10ltr twins.

Where do you usually Dive
Just the Red Sea at the moment. Gonna Dive the Torbay Area and Plymouth

Number of Dives
20

Deepest Dive
38m

Longest Dive
49mins

Favourite Dive
The Blue Hole, Dahab, Egypt

Worst Dive
Last dive of Advanced OW course.
Guy in our group must have dived with an empty tank! (not my buddy!)
5 mins into dive needs alternate buddy air.
He panics and bites the mouthpiece off the Reg!
Luckily I spotted it and our guide races in and gets him on his octopus.
Diver calms down and we continue the dive. Not ideal when your a novice.
Great experience though.

What dive/trip would you most like to do
Scapa Flow

What ONE other question should I have included?
Looks pretty good to me.
