That said, the rural & coastal parts of Northern Scotland can be spectacular and if the weather was nicer, it would be full of high rise hotels and tourists.

I suppose you can't have everything!

you have a point.. but when the weather is good..it is spectular.. and the diving even better.. espically up on the Moary Coast!!

Quite right, I was diving up at Rosehearty 2 Sundays ago and the water was some of the calmest I've seen for quite a while.

The alternative was having to practice buoyancy drills in Boddam quarry so didn't mind the fact it was raining so much.

Oh, and Finless, I believe a kick in the nuts is Aberdeen is referred to as a either a doin' -or- getting 'malkied'

Cheers

In my experience, it can be seen being administered by any one of the full spectrum of anglo-saxon christian names, plus a few which no-one actually seems to know how to spell.

Especially on Union Street 1am Saturday.......

Hi James,

welcome to the boards...

not sure about the club scene, but there are plenty of YDers from that area who should be able to point you in the general direction... what about one the the Uni,s from that area? might be worth giving them a shout as there is usually a club affiliated to them, isn't there?

Enjoy the boards

Pete

Pete,

Cheers for the welcome. I'm really not sure what's out there so hence the question in the first place. There are a few clubs listed on the BSAC website but ideally was looking for some insight from people currently in the area.

No worries however, I'm not moving until next Spring.

Aye,

Rosehearty is a good spot for a dip in the water. Suprisingly good vis too.

Hope things work out for you this weekend. The weather doesn't look like it'll be too bad on the met office website.

We are relatively calm out here at the moment, less than 10 knots Easterly but being 140 miles offshore it's probably not very relevant!

Lots of interesting stuff on the boards.....

Cheers
