Talking Aye up....

Now then all,

I am Tom, 26yr old from Carlisle. Power Transmission Engineer by day... diver, sailor, sea fisherman and beer lover by night! Ive been lurking around this site for a while now, in fact I now seem to use it as my first reference point for anything diving, so I am way over due joining. Great site.

So Ive just moved back to Cumbria after two years working in Australia, NZ and Fiji.... A crazy decision some say, but that is a whole different story!

Learn't to dive 12 months ago after a lifetime of saying "gonna get round to that one day". Only wish I had done somthing about it sooner! I learn't to dive with PADI on the barrier reef and now have my Master Scuba Diver. Have seen most of what Queensland diving had to offer... Manta Rays off Heron Island... Minke and Humpback Whales off Port Douglas... The Yongala... to name a few! Spoilt me for life!!

Anyhow got my Uk "wings" in Stoney back in August and did my first UK dive trip out of Weymouth in September (M2 and Pomeranion) but haven't dived since, due to bad weather cancelling trips! Arggghhh! Hopefully if all goes well I am gonna get some TDI training under my belt fairly soon and begin pushing my boundries a little further.

I am currently looking for an active dive club to join somewhere up north to do some regular diving. Wrecks, history, and tails of treasure are what I am really interested in but don't mind the odd dip in a lake or quarry to keep my skills sharp. However my primary aim this year is to gain some more experience in the 30-45m range.

Distance not to much of a problem as I work the area between Edinburgh and Newcastle during the week, and return to Cumbria by weekend. Looking for a club that has a good mix of members, who also enjoy a laugh and few beers at the end of the day. Would love to make some new friends while I am at it

Anyhow looking forward to talking to you all

Have a merry xmas

Tom

I thought for a moment you were going to tell us you are a lumberjack too...

I'm from the Newcastle area, but in God's Country, South of the Tyne. Drop me a line if you want to organise a dive.

This lot don't do things at night like diving they are all too scared, and most of them only drink shandy never mind the tree huggers who think fishing is cruel, and most of em have to sit under trees to stop them being sea sick.

Oh by the way welcome .
