But thanks for the suggestions! I saw some nice trips on the forum already, and via google I've found also some trips organized by local diving schools. Any recommendations? Are you associated to a diving school?

Is it necessary to get a deep dive speciality before heading to Leeds? I have some experience with diving down to 38 meters, but I'm not certified... (My insurance doesn't care.)

Btw, what's the current water temperature?

Cheers,

Jenny
hi Jenny from Holland

sea water temp this weekend about 8 degrees

as has been said don't bother getting a deep dive specialty if you need one do it here!!!
actually I don't know what it entails!!

you wouldn't need to do deco dives in the north sea yes we do but mostly not!!!

local diving schools. . . . interesting

maybe you should look at clubs
a lot of shops have clubs attached
some on YD only use YD trips!

or you could try looking at local bsac clubs then you can either stay with qualifications you have or change over to bsac - have an equivalent grade and progress from there

the choice is endless

best wishes
steven

What a coincidence, I moved from Holland to Leeds - I remember flying over Leeds as we were landing at Leeds Airport over all those back to backs; it was a Friday afternoon and that weekend was one of the most depressing I've ever had - I was not overjoyed at moving from the Hague to Leeds.

Anyway, welcome to YD.

What part of Leeds are you moving to? If you're on the west side then you won't be far from Divers Warehouse, an excellent shop - at least it was, I haven't been there now for over 3 years.

I don't have any accomodation yet, but most likely it'll be something near the university (as that's the place I'm gonna work and they're responsible for my housing).

Need anything from Holland? Drop or stroofwafels? I can bring some if you'd like

Thanks but I'm actually still going over every now and again - to Maarsen as a matter of fact!
