Hello There

Hi there all

Just to introduce myself really
My name is Mike HarveY I am a PADI Advanced diver and my mate Jules uses these forums so thought i would sign up and join the fun.

one question i have and that is I need to get a new BCD but fed up of the clutter and squeeze a BCD brings so am looking at a wing also i wouldnt mind upgrading to a twin set in teh future.
The Wing i have tried on is a Poeisdon BESEA W100. It can be used for single cylinders for now and will cater for a twin set but dont know whether the W50 wing would be better as it is smaller..The only thing making me look more at the W100 is that my local dive shop has it on a reduced price so it works out cheaper...I think it is really comfy and like it but dont know whetherto get the W50 for more recreational diving (2 trips to Red Sea coming up) until i decide to upgrade to twinset.
Can anyone advise?

Many Thanks

Mike

Hi,
I recently upgraded to a wing and back plate for similar reasons, I was fed up with the clutter of a BCD. I went for the Apeks WTX40 wing and Apeks back plate and harness, the whole set up cost me about £220 so less than a buddy BCD. About 50% of my diving is on a single and 50% on twins so I got a single tank adapter from Diving Products - Home. The whole set up works really well both with the single and the twin.

If you are planning on using your wing with a single tanks don't get a really big one as it will end up rapping round the tank and creating allot of drag in the water.

Hello and welcome to YD! You may get a better response if you post your question in the equipment section as a separate thread. Good luck with your purchase.

I dive a stainless steel backplate with a Dive Rite Harness and Wing and I am perfectly happy with it. I can't comment on the Poseidon wing but I a simple harness/backplate set up works well for a lot of YDers.
