Ok, its about time I stopped skulking!

    Hi there folks,

I thought it was about time I announced my presence to one and all. I will be known to some of you as I have this nametag in various places across the web.

    For the others........

My real name is John and I'm on the payroll of Auntie Betty for fixing aircraft (although I'm instructing at the moment). I'm one dive away from BSAC Sports but unfortunately I need some boots fitting to my drysuit before that happens, although I've just bought some and have the facilities to do it so have no excuse now! I'm intrigued by the DIR methodology but as I'm a single parent you can keep it for the time being, when I'm ready (read...financially capable!) I'll let you know. Meanwhile I'm intending doing an advanced nitrox as my next step, although the club would like me to do an IFC as we have a lot of OD turnover and very few instructors (maybe thats why I have been dragging my heels about those boots!).

I'm a member of Cosford SAC primarily and will be joining the boys and girls of Eastbourne occasionally as thats where my other half is, if they ever get me a membership costing!

My diving preference is for reefs not wrecks but that is probably because I have only been on 2 wrecks (one was a stripped out hull off Marmaris and the other was the Dunraven) as opposed to reefs in the Persian Gulf, Dom Rep and Sharm and as such I am willing to dive on anything to increase the sample.

My UK diving thus far has been limited to Guildy and er well.... the pool, sorry! I intend to be diving the Farnes/St Abbs/Eyemouth in July and the channel out of Eastbourne as mentioned above.

Now hopefully this'll get rid of those bloody banners at the top of my screen!

    John

    enjoy YD

and of course your diving - a lot of people like wrecks in the UK probably for the same reason you like reefs i.e. for the marine life that dwells there.

Someone will soon say for the shiny bits too but there will always be that I'm afraid.

My thoughts are not to go down the instructor route before you get some uk diving in 1st and then not unless you really want to!

but then what do I know!!

    cheers Steven
