Talking I'm new too (sort of :)

Greetings all

Some of you know me from these hallowed boards in the days of old when I had my buddy stab jacket, tank and pony. Alas, some of the boys and girls seemingly thought I might have popped off since Santa brought me a lovely yellow box a few years ago but hey, I've been lucky even during those times when the lovely yellow box plays a trick or two on me. Last week's trick being both handsets switching off - nice eh? Keeps the diving exciting. Still not to worry, my new rebreather (a poll to guess which one would be fun with a top prize for the winner) will put a stop to that. If it gets too boring I can always take the yellow box back out of it's old wrapping for a dunk in some icy lake. Nice.

Well then possums...let's see...in the 18 months or so since I went into semi-retirement from the diving internet boards..since coming out of retirement a few days ago, I'm simply shell shocked to discover that peeps have got so much time to post and read so it might take me a good long time to get caught up on oh..let's see...around 18 months of posts that don't include rebreather stuff. I love the DIR and Deco board ideas, sweet. Now if only that had been around when I was extolling the virtues of DIR all those years ago. But since I started Doing It Rebreather, people call me a stroke, don't know why!

G'day to all the possums even the naughty ones

Thhhhhhhheeeeeeeeeeeeen again maby you have gon off electronics toooo. But no wait the KISS dosent go deep enough for you.

Soooo I reckon the Meg

Smile KISS and depth

"The KISS doesn't go deep enough for you"

What do you mean? Deep diving is for dangerous irresponsible fools. I like to paddle along in the shallows, knowing all the the while that I can pop up to the surface holding my breath if it all goes wrong.

Actually - you might want to rethink that as the KISS valve is undergoing continuing improvement. And the MEG doesn't have ongoard deco software any more.

So - I can't confirm or deny at this stage that any of your guesses have been correct. Keep guessing. Remember, that top prize!!

Cool Mythical RBs

Yes you're right there. And it's definitely not an Evolution.

Chasey was closer when he said I might have gone off electronic control. Frankly I was never a proponent of it in the first place but it's handy when you're hungover etc.

Disclaimer - that was only a joke, I would never advocate the drinking of beverages containing alcohol or comprised entirely of alcohol at any stage before, during or after diving activities are undertaken.

sporty KISS

Yeah it's a travel one and nice and dinky. Ultra handy unit for bimbling on holiday. In fact it's small enough for a kid to use, if the word hits the street it could be the new Playstation. Hehe. Maybe we better continue this in the rebreather bit anyway so you start a thread and then we can ramble about RBs in there. I also need to do some rambling about lights which is really one the reasons I'm back

Semi-closed is not that far off!!

Are you telling me my deco beer is no good? I thought that Instructor was fleecing me when he suggested I get them in!

Smile deco beer

Ah now the deco beer is something entirely different You must know of the surface deco stop theory then which determines that addition of bubbles on the surface cancels out bubbles from the dive

Disclaimer: I made all that up, don't try it, give me the beer instead where it will be looked after safely.
