    post dive rinsing

Rinsing exhale counterlung is pretty easy, tip water in, drain through dump valve, repeat. Tip warm Virkon solution in, leave for 15 mins, drain through dump valve. Then repeat with water.

Inhale counterlung not so easy, no dump valve, water has to come out same way it went in. Is the only realistic way for doing this to dismantle the unit, take off the wing, lungs, etc.... ?

Maybe I confuse efficiency with laziness.

Once rinsed it should be left to dry thoroughly.

So, how do you do that? It is an (almost) closed plastic bag after all - how do you get moisture out? Active ventilation?

Is this not covered in the training?

If You read the manual it says :
Disassemble the unit , rinse and leave it to up side down.. to dry page 103.

How difficult can it be... and i think cleaning the unit should be covered during training.

It was covered in my training, but it's commonsense really.

I take the unit apart to clean it after a trip. It's so easy on a JJ, so there's no reason not to. After rinsing and getting the bulk of the water out, I leave the lungs hung upside down in the bathroom for a few days to let them dry completely. I then store them open.

No issues so far, nearly 2 years in. It's exactly what I did with the Inspo too and I never had issues there either.

Yeah it was covered in the training. And I have read the manual. Thanks for this valuable input.

I was asking about how people are doing it in the real world, c.f. training/manual.

Yes it was covered, and I even read the manual :-)

Still - it takes days for the lungs to dry completely.
